This holiday season, the Keene Elm City Rotary Club (KECR) has focused its efforts on bringing food to those in need in the Monadnock region.
We worked with MUCH (Monadnock Understands Childhood Hunger), a group dedicated to alleviating childhood hunger that is funded through the KECR, to deliver 148 food boxes the week of Christmas and 136 food boxes on the Monday before Thanksgiving to local families.

We also have been working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver 48-68 boxes each week to area families in need. These boxes include fresh produce, beans, rice, pasta, canned sauces, eggs, milk, cheese, snacks, bread, cereal and are available through our schools, who identify families in need and relay that information to MUCH. The weekly deliveries will continue through the school year with larger efforts planned for the February and April school vacations.

KECR members also volunteered at the Keene Community Kitchen on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Wednesday before Christmas, packing and distributing more than 100 dinners each night.
